Ferrari F12 Berlinetta

Under the F12’s flowing hood lurks a 6.3-liter V-12, good for 729 horsepower and 508 pound-feet of torque. Mated to a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox, the engine provides enough thrust to get the car from 0-60 mph in only 3.1 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 211 miles per hour.

In case you need another frame of reference, ponder this: the F12 Berlinetta has lapped Ferrari’s Fiorano circuit in 1:23, making it a full second faster than the Ferrari 599 GTO and approximately two seconds faster than the Ferrari Enzo. The car’s styling may be somewhat polarizing, but its performance certainly isn’t.

Ensuring that the car corners as well as it accelerates is the job of its Delphi-licensed magnetorheological suspension, electronic differential, carbon ceramic brakes and F1-Trac stability control programming. Even the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tiresused on the car are specific to the F12, and designed for maximum performance.

As impressive as the F12 Berlinetta is, it likely won’t retain its crown as the fastest production Ferrari for long. Word is that the successor to the Ferrari Enzo will debut by year end, probably relegating the F12 to the status of second-fastest Ferrari production car.
